Abstract

The article considers the current state of the problem of reducing CO2 emissions from the combustion of coal used as fuel in the energy sector. The main stages of combustion coal are briefly considered. Experimental results of combustion of a water-coal mixture with a content of 50% water are presented. When using inexpensive coal powder as a precursor, a graphene-like carbon (GLC) nanomaterial was obtained using the KOH activation method. The data of electron microscopy (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy on the production of graphene-like carbon by the method of carbon cone activation are presented. Data on the combustion of water coal fuel in an experimental burner, as well as characteristics of the combustion process that contribute to reducing the concentration of CO2 are given.
