Abstract

The article presents the results of extraction of natural bitumen from oil sands of Kazakhstan. Natural bitumen, along with the heavy oil is an unconventional source of hydrocarbons. Extraction and processing of natural bitumen are complicated by its high viscosity and a high content of resin-asphaltene components. Much attention is given to the extraction of natural bitumen by solvents, thermal and ultrasonic treatment and in supercritical fluid environment. Extraction of the Beke natural bitumen by steam-heating effect in the presence of various additives is carried out.
