Abstract

In this work, the effect of the gelling substance «carboxymethyl cellulose» on the kinetics of decomposition, burning rate, flame propagation and temperature profile of energy compositions based on ammonium nitrate is studied, which is widely used for use in shaped charges. The results are presented that demonstrate increased combustion characteristics and stabilization of the combustion of ammonium nitrate, an increase in the combustion temperature and a decrease in the initial decomposition temperature of EO with the addition of carboxymethyl cellulose. The combustion temperature of the ammonium nitrate and gelling composition is in the range 900-1100 °C. The decomposition temperature with the addition of carboxymethyl cellulose decreased from 267 to 245 ° C.
