Support of domestic scientific journals

The answer to the question “Which journals are authoritative in Kazakhstan?” are those approved by the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as publications indexed by Scopus and Web of Science databases. Among the Kazakhstan ones are «Eurasian Chemico-Technological Journal», «Combustion and Plasma Chemistry», «Bulletin of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan», «Bulletin of KarGU» and others. Publication in them is considered a kind of success for a student; the requirements for such publications are high. The main purpose of scientific publications is to share their discoveries with the world, as well as to learn the opinion of prominent scientific figures about their work and to declare themselves as promising researchers.

RSE on PCV «Institute of Combustion Problems» of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan closely cooperates with NAO «аl-Farabi Kazakh National University» (https://www.kaznu.kz/). Most of the Institute's staff are master's and doctoral students of al-Farabi KazNU. Based on the Institute, they undergo scientific and industrial practice. The Institute of Combustion Problems publishes two scientific journals, such as «Eurasian Chemico-Technological Journal» (http://ect-journal.kz/) and «Combustion and Plasma Chemistry» (https://cpc-journal.kz/) in the publishing house «Kazakh University».

On November 7-8, 2023, the XIV International Symposium «Combustion and Plasma Chemistry. Physics and Chemistry of Carbon and Nanoenergetic Materials» dedicated to the 90th anniversary of аl-Farabi KazNU. Kazakhstan scientists, as well as scientists attended the symposium from Russia, South Korea, China, Germany and Morocco. The symposium was organized by the Institute of Combustion Problems together with al-Farabi KazNU and Kazakhstan-British Technical University. The abstracts presented at the symposium were published in the Proceedings (ISBN 978-601-269-508-3). Following the results of the symposium, the participants were given the opportunity to publish their articles in the Eurasian Chemico-Technological Journal and «Combustion and Plasma Chemistry» journals.

March 15, 2024 in al-Farabi KazNU took place VIII Kazakhstan Student Scientific and Practical Conference «Chemical Physics and Nanomaterials», dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of three times Hero of Socialist Labor, Academician Ya.B. Zeldovich. The main goal of the conference is to support and develop scientific activity of young scientists. The best scientific poster presentations were awarded diplomas of I, II and III degree and monetary remuneration:

Diploma of I degree – 2nd year student Ilyanov Akram;

Diploma of II degree – 3rd year student Azamatkyzy Ayaulym Azamatkyzy, 1st year master student Serikkazinova Akbota;

Diploma of III degree – 3rd year student Makhsutov Tair, 3rd year students Orazova Z. and Makhpirova R., 2nd year master student Seimukhanova Laura.

According to the results of the conference was published in printed form collection of theses (ISBN 978-5-7782-4398-9).

PhD Supiyeva Zh.A. being the chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the Institute of Combustion Problems was an active organizer of these two scientific events under the leadership of Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor, Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan Z.A. Mansurov.

We see that today scientific conferences and publications are inextricably linked. Proceedings of conferences are published, and the best papers presented at conferences can be published in scientific journals. In the future, we hope for fruitful cooperation of scientists in publishing scientific articles in Kazakhstan scientific journals.

Acting Assistant Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of al-Farabi Kazakh National University PhD Supiyeva Zh.
