Abstract

The present paper contains study results of the features of the nitride containing composites formed in the pressed AL–TiO2–C–Si system samples inside a high pressure reactor with various nitrogen pressure values. It has been found that the nitrogen pressure effect is manifested as insignificant reduction of the combustion temperature and increased durability of a synthesized composite. The basic SHS products are refractory compounds such as nitrides, carbides and metals oxides.
