Development of pyrotechnic delay compositions for oil well treatment

Abstract

As a result of conducted studies, new delay compositions based on barium chromate, ammonium nitrate and magnesium have been developed, which have a high stability of the operating characteristics. Laws of process of burning delay compositions and the effect of an inert environment on the combustion process are investigated. The role of magnesium powder is shown, which contributes to an increase in the rate of burning and an increase in the energetics of the composition. The products of combustion of the developed composition were investigated using scanning electron microscopy and X-ray phase analysis.
